Christantus Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.

A further victory in their next match against Finland's KuPS ought to be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
